Cory’s Ride

On the last day of the 1998 Anchor House Ride for Runaways, Cory Golis, 15, of Hopewell Township was struck and killed by a car. After his tragic death, Cory’s family, in conjunction with the Anchor House Foundation, created a scholarship fund in his name — The Cory Golis/Anchor House Foundation Scholarship Fund. The goal is to provide tuition assistance to deserving high school students and recent high school graduates to attend college, trade, or technical school. In January of 1999, the Anchor House Ride for Runaways Planning Committee authorized a committee of five people to plan and coordinate the first annual “Cory’s Ride”. The purpose of the Ride was not only to raise money for the Scholarship Fund, but to continue to honor Cory’s memory. Last year we awarded $18,000 to 11 amazing young men and women.

Thank you so much for your support as we continue to honor Cory’s legacy and support students as they build bright futures.
